Hey There . . .

I’m Maggie!

I’m glad that you’re here.

I believe in providing individualized, meaningful treatment for each of my clients to help them reach their health goals.

None of us fit in a box and  your care shouldn’t be a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

Often when we bring our concerns to medical health professionals, we are met with surface-level care that only treats the symptoms.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start, just know I’ve been there too and I’m excited to get started with you on your wellness journey.

I’m passionate about partnering with you!

My Health Journey

I am extremely passionate about helping my clients find answers because I and my family have been on an extensive health journey of our own for quite some time.

By the age of 30, I was on seven different medications and told by health care professionals that I was “very healthy”. But I didn’t feel that way at all. I brought concerns to them about constant migraines, trouble sleeping - not to mention that I was anxious, depressed and starting to gain weight. I was just told the normal things - watch what you eat, work out a little more, and on and on. I knew there had to be a different way.

At the same time, my kids were going through a lot of health challenges. After much research and seeking counsel, we realized it was largely related to vaccine injuries. I saw them growing up with health concerns I knew could be avoided, if only I could find the answers.

While researching and developing on our family health journey, I saw a lot of my own clients with the same concerns - poor gut health, heavy metal toxicity and recurrent infections. Their lives were filled with stress, toxins, and processed foods. Yet when they went to the doctor, they were always given a clean bill of health. But I knew there had to be a different way, and wanted to help them, like I was helping my own family.

Many said that expanding my practice into holistic health was a mistake. They said I should, “stay in my lane.” My response to them was always to smile and say, “Either the highway has to expand, or I will get off this one and build a new way.” I was determined to connect the dots and find the answers that the modern health system failed to seek out.

My goal is for my clients to realize, just like I did, that they are in charge of their health. You are your best advocate for your care. We all go through seasons in life that require different elements of care - care that should be customized to you.

So if you’re looking for answers and true healing - You’ve come to the right place.

Training & Certifications

My Experience

My journey into working in whole-body care began back in college. I started out pre-med with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Nutrition at Texas Women’s University. I applied and was wait listed for med school three times - needless to say, that was not the path that God had for me. So, I decided to teach high school in the meantime, Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology. While I liked teaching, I really loved it when the students would come to talk to me during tutoring or after school. I realized that maybe counseling was my true calling. Which incidentally enough, reminded me of my advisors in college who had encouraged me in that direction from the start!

I graduated with a Masters of Science in Counseling from A&M Commerce and then worked for a non-profit in their Domestic Violence and Incest Recovery departments. There, I would lead group counseling sessions, individual counseling sessions, groups in the county jail and state prisons, and give a lot of courtroom testimony. After that, I worked at a psychiatric hospital in their trauma unit and outpatient for trauma counseling. While these experiences were beyond valuable, and I loved working with these clients, I knew there was still more I was looking for.

I wanted to have the flexibility to expand into other areas and let my conscience guide the type of care that I give. I’ve always been extremely passionate about not just helping someone with their mental health, but also about helping them find the root issue, which often lies within other areas of our bodies. So I started my private practice back in 2013, and have been doing that ever since.

I’d love to help you get to the root of your health concerns and find lasting healing.

My Services

Each part of my practice is deeply integrated into the belief that our care should be as connected as the systems within our bodies. Each symptom is pointing to internal areas that need some attention and care.

Some clients choose to integrate both my licensed counseling and holistic functional wellness services, while others find that one approach best fits their needs. While I do practice both, I schedule and bill them separately.

Counseling

In my counseling practice, I go beyond just traditional talk therapy. I utilize safe, trusted methods, that are backed by science, to reach beyond surface-level healing and coping mechanisms.

  • I specialize in trauma-informed therapy techniques, that not only help with those suffering from PTSD or the effects of adverse experiences, but also, for clients who don’t even realize that they’ve had traumatic experiences. We’ve all been through difficult things and I’m here to help you lighten your load.

  • Our mental health is deeply connected to other areas of our person - gut health, sleeping patterns, and more! Those who become clients on both sides of my practice find deeper answers to their symptoms in their everyday patterns and habits.

  • Traditional healthcare is a set, defined system that requires limiting care to insurance-covered, “approved” care. This system has been deeply corrupted - often looking out more for corporations than patients. I don’t work with insurance companies because it was limiting the care I could offer my clients and stunting their personal growth.

Areas of Expertise

I’ve seen each of these methods transform lives and I know that they can do the same for you! My Counseling & Functional Wellness practices offer many options that can be customized to your needs.

  • Brain Spotting is a method that is focused on your somatic system. It treats body-centered experiences through eye position while discussing difficult events. Focusing on certain eye positions while processing deep traumas helps the brain to process and store the memories differently.

  • EMDR is a trusted, science-backed method that helps clients process trauma and difficult experiences without recounting every detail through traditional talk therapy. While the name sounds intimidating, it’s simply a therapy treatment that uses bilateral stimulation of the brain. Because it accesses both sides of the brain, it helps your brain process and file the memory to minimize the effects of the event. I’ve seen it help clients process very difficult things that they couldn’t fully express through traditional talk therapy.

  • ETT is a drug-free, evidence-based method that incorporates color into treatment. While it sounds strange, our brains receive and store information that is introduced through our senses. Light frequencies are introduced and I’ll help walk you through developing health associations and beliefs to improve your mental state and adverse effects from trauma.

  • Splankna is a trusted method that incorporates multiple therapy techniques to connect mental health care to the body and soul. While the origins of this method are rooted in Christianity, it can also work for those who aren’t of that religious affiliation. It helps you unlock emotional patterns that run deeper than just your surface-level thoughts. I’ve seen this therapy help clients be set free from damaging habits and unhealthy systems.

  • This specific type of Neurofeedback is like a gentle workout for your brain. It utilizes the brain’s natural electrical system to help the brain develop new patterns and reorganize. Most clients see improvement in their focus, memory, sleep, and mental health. It’s really powerful and I’ve seen it be very effective.

  • A holistic, whole-person approach to your health. This is far beyond your traditional methods - it includes a more in depth intake process, more thorough testing, and a customized care plan that is broken down into manageable steps for you. As your practitioner, I’m available to you outside of our appointments to answer questions, help encourage you and provide support all along the way.

  • Our bodies’ communication systems are very connected and we just need to know how to listen to the signals that it’s sending. One of the most effective ways is actually thorough muscle testing. As your practitioner, I’ll help you learn your body’s communication system and we’ll discover today what it’s trying to tell us about your health.

Your body is trying to tell you something, and it is time to stop and listen.

Maggie offers free consultations so you can talk through your options with no pressure, no rush. Just space to ask questions and figure out what makes sense for you!
